…and a bottle of rum
Wednesday, October 13th, 2004

I’ll see your Lindt and raise you a Cote d’Or. Yes, I’ve finally found a place in this country that sells these fine Belgian (not French!) chocolate bars. Even with the Euro beating the pants off the dollar, $5 is a bit of a steep markup. Cheaper than a ticket across the pond, though.

Now if only I could find real Maille here, I’d be a happy camper. Do not be fooled, people: what you see on your grocer’s shelf is not the real deal.

Yo, yo, yo!

Just a thought….

I was just reading that Kerry spent most of yesterday (and all of last night) prepping for tonight’s big depate in Arizona. Bush, on the other hand, spent it the same way he has spent the last 2 debates — deliverin stump speeches.

Could this possibly explain why he as a C student??

On another note, I enjoyed a little taste of heaven today: a Lindt milk chocolate bar and a bottle of Volvic. They go well together.

It’s a cool, autumn day here in Dtrex headquarters. Looks like the rain is on its way.

Well, it is now well apparent that autumn is here. Perhaps I should consider investing in a jumper or some sort of jacket.

Not really motivated to write much today — seems like a cold is coming on.

I hate Mondays.

Rather, TGIMFF.

Went out to TargĂ© last night and bought, among other items, F9/11. Good stuff. As riveting as the film itself are some of the extras: Bush’s press conference after his “discussion” with the 911 committee. The reports were clearly taking the piss. Good interview with a Swedish journalist embedded (”in bed with”???) with a US company doing a raid in Samarra. Chilling and disappointing stuff.

Bad news… and then some hope

Great article today in the Washington Monthly.

It really boggles the mind…

Today, I’ve rediscovered the joys of OuiFm radio in Paris. Kinda forgot about it since I last was there, but I was quickly reminded why the state of radio in Europe (specifically the state of ROCK) is in much better shape then here. I highlt recommend checking it out if you have broadband. You can listen live and enjoy.

Last night, I was well chuffed to see Dizzee Rascal on MTV2. Who ever though Fix Up Lookg Sharp would at long last make it to American airwaves? Not I, but I am well pleased it did.

A new tactic

Here’s a tip for the Kerry/Edwards crew, in time for Friday night’s debate:

Skip the talk about war, about health care, and any other hot-button issues. Really.

Instead, just point to the guy at the other podium and ask, “How could you vote for this man? He fell off a bloody Segway, for cryin’ out loud! He choked on a pretzel! -and he wants to be your leader!?”

If that doesn’t move the public, nothing will.
